       1987年毕业于华中农业大学土化系,获农学学士学位;1990年和1993年在中国科学院土壤研究所分别获得理学硕士和博士学位。1994-1995年在德国基尔大学从事土壤空间变异和土壤地理信息系统研究,1998年和2000年在德国埃森大学生态研究所从事城市土壤研究。2001年晋升为研究员,2006年获国家自然科学杰出青年基金资助。入选江苏省“333”人才第二层次培养对象,江苏省有突出贡献中青年专家,享受国务院政府特殊津贴,国家自然科学基金学科评审组专家。曾任中国土壤学会常务理事、秘书长,国际土壤科学联合会土壤发生委员会主席, FAO“政府间土壤专家小组”(ITPS)成员。是《Geoderma》、《中国科学-地球科学》、《National Science Review》等杂志编委。曾获国家自然科学二等奖和多个省部级科技奖。
